Detoxification is a subject of huge importance, it is all about resting, cleansing and nourishing the body from the inside out. This is a process that helps in cleaning the body from the toxins and protecting it from diseases. It also helps in renewing the ability to maintain optimum health including other methods also, like yoga and meditation. It is highly recommended to detox your body at least once per year. There are many methods that you can follow, but be aware that you must make some changes in your daily habits and a way of eating.

Eliminate alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, refined sugars, and saturated fats, which all act like toxins in the body. It would be very good to minimize the use of household cleaners and health care products. Try to find natural alternatives for healthcare and beauty products. Don’t expose yourself to stress, by releasing the stress hormones lead to creating of toxins and slow down detoxification enzymes in the liver. That’s why yoga and meditation are a perfect practices for reliving the stress and help in gaining better health.

Here are some foods that help the liver clean the body more efficiently. Consuming some of this foods on a daily base will be like giving your body a cleaning service.

Apples

Some believe that apple detox diet revitalizes the body by helping to flush out toxins and giving the digestive system a rest. The fiber pectin in the apple helps detox metals and food additives. Not in vain they say “an apple a day keeps a doctor away”. I read somewhere that great detox diet is eating only apples for two days.

Asparagus

This plant helps with liver drainage. It is also one of the best stress reducing foods. It is also good source of fiber, folate, iron, vitamin A, C, E and K.

Avocado

The health fat fruit is also a detox superstar. Avocados have glutathione, which helps the liver detoxify synthetic chemicals.

Basil

This herb helps in elimination of chemicals i the blood, anyway it is a great add to the salads and the soups.

Beets

This vegetable contains a mix of minerals and phytochemicals that makes it one of the best blood purifier and liver cleanser.

Brazil Nuts

The Brazil Nuts are full with selenium, sodium, calcium, potassium and magnesium. All is good for cleansing the body, the blood pressure and heart health.

Broccoli

Broccoli increase glutathione, which helps the liver transform toxins into a form that can be easily eliminated.

Carrots

Same as broccoli, but they also full with beta carotene and vitamin A and have many cardiovascular benefits and help improve immune function.

Cauliflower
