Visit San Anton Garden – The most beautiful garden in Malta

San Anton Garden botanical trees Malta

San Anton Garden is an amazing place in Attard and it always feels good spending time there. I live in Birkirkara and this garden is only 20 minutes by foot from my home. The other day me and my boyfriend decided to have a walk around the garden and admire the green trees and plants and some animal that can be found there.

I even enjoyed the walk until we reach the garden. Birkirkara has a lot of cute houses on the way. We were wondering if we have to pay to enter the garden, but it was free of charge, as many other times. Only once there was some exhibition, and we had to pay, but it was only 2 euros each.

Know that it is always pleasant to spend time there, because it is very green and colorful, calm and brings tranquility. It is full of trees and plants from different parts of the world, and you can see peacocks and other birds, and cats walking around. There are also ponds and fountains and even a small labyrinth.

History of San Anton Botanical Garden

The garden was build by Gran Master Antoine de Paule in the early 1600s, along with San Anton Palace as his summer residence. Today the Palace is the residence of the Maltese President. Antoine was elected as a Grand Master in 1623 and he wanted his palace to provide the est accommodation for his guests., so he did an amazing job. In 1882 the garden was finally open for the public and today many events are taking place.
